How To Implement SAP NetWeaver - Part I

This is the first part of the two articles discussing SAP NEtWeaver and some implementation considerations.

SAP NetWeaver helps in integrating different SAP products so as to make it easier for applications to work together. With SAP NetWeaver, it becomes easier to add application one on top of the other. Companies can create portals through which various functionalities and programs can be accessed through a single interface. To manage this process, SAP NEtWeaver takes data from various applications and manages it at one central place. This ensures consistency of master data in the combined systems.

SAP NetWeaver can also interfaces with other applications, to provide a seamless end-to-end business process capabilities. So a business process may actually start in another application, data may be transfered through an interface into SAP NetWeaver where the business process is taken forward. This entire integration provides the user with the flexibility to work across systems using SAP NetWeaver as the common platform.

SAP NetWeaver can be used in a variety of ways. Business best practices can be leveraged during SAP NetWeaver implementation. You can read about SAP Solution Manager in one of my earlier articles here which describes how SAP SOLMAN has replaced ASAP as the implementation resource. In part II of this article I would discuss some pointers on how to successfully implement SAP NetWeaver.
