VIRSA VRAT COCKPIT - Segregation of Duties SOD Risk Analysis

Virsa's compliance calibrator is an excellent tool for SOD analysis. Sometime back I had done a post on the basics of the virsa compliance calibrator. Virsa's compliance calibrator is embedded in SAP as an SAP transaction. As a result, there is no additional software which needs to be added to SAP. At the time of creation of a role in SAP R/3, Virsa identifies potential conflicts in the role. Thus the business process owners are aware of the potential conflicts before hand.

Virsa comes with a library of segregation of duties SOD rules built in. There are more than 20000 SOD rules in Virsa. More SOD rules can be added based on the needs of the organization. I recently reviewed the Virsa tool at a seminar and was throughly impressed by the functionalities and features in the tool. Virsa is really an out-of-the-box solution for SOD analysis. So should companies go in for Virsa's Compliance Calibrator? Is it worth the money? The answer is yes. The biggest reason for this is that Virsa does SOD analysis before the fact rather than after the fact role correction. Roles can be simulated and Virsa shows how they will behave in the production environment.
