In SAP Business Warehouse, business content refers to roles based, pre-delivered set of information models. Thus, in case a company is using business content, SAP BW business warehouse can work as a out-of-the-box data warehouse solution. There is no need to create own information models. On the flip side, SAP BW information models which come as part of business content though easy to install normally do not meet all company requirements.
Such BW information model business content can be customized, via program enhancements so as to meet company requirements. Business content information models consist of meta data that can be used to create information models such as infoobjects, infosets, infocubes, ODS objects, multi-providers, datasources, transfer and update rules, workbooks, roles and web-application servers. The main advantage of role based business content information models is that information can be delivered to accomplish specific tasks. Business content can be used with SAP xApps Analytics to support the organizations analytic activities.
