The Questions and Answers database (Q & Adb) is a tool which is used in the business blueprint phase of the ASAP implementation project. Q & Adb helps one in analyzing and determining the scope of the system implementation. Q & Adb is a structured tool in the sense that all processes that can be implemented in the SAP R/3 system are displayed in the form of a tree called the "reference structure". The Q & Adb tool is used while defining the business blueprint, when the business processes to be implemented in SAP R/3 system are decided.
Q & Adb also helps in defining authorizations for users. Roles can be created in the questions and answers database and one can assign processes to be implemented to these roles. Once this information is populated, an authorizations list can be generated to refine the roles defined. Along with the roles defined as per the business processes in the "Q & Adb" and the other roles defined, a comprehensive authorizations list can be generated. One benefit of using the "Questions and Answers Database Q & Adb" for defining user roles is that user roles get mapped to the business processes. This means that user roles are in alignment with the business processes.
